Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover to reboot Mr & Mrs Smith

New series for Amazon Prime

Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover are to star in a reboot of the 2005 film Mr and Mrs Smith.

They will take the roles of married assassins, as originally played by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - but this time their story will be told over the duration of a series for Amazon Prime.

‘Talk about the dream team!’ said Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke. ‘Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world.

‘It's truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team.

Waller-Bridge and Atlanta creator Glover will also be executive producers n the new show, expected to hit the streaming platform next year,
