Comedians to front new TV dating format

Comedians are to set members of the public up with blind dates in a new series being made for Sky One.

In Dating No Filter, the comics will be given some say on which singletons will be paired up - then watch and commentate on the dates, from awkward interactions to heart-warming moments.

The comedians taking part in the eight-part series, due to air early next year, have not yet been named.

Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s head of entertainment said: ‘The dating world has been thrown into chaos with the pandemic. How can folks get together when they have to be apart? 

‘Luckily we have the answer - with the help of some brilliant comedians watching dates unfold and dishing up some advice to our dating couples - Dating No Filter is the perfect way to re-introduce Britain to love.’

It is an adaptation of a US series that has aired on the E! network for two series, hosted by comic Cara Connors and featuring different comedians each week. A Polish version has also been made.

The UK version will be produced by Monkey, part of the Universal Studio Group. The company’s creative director David Granger  said: ‘Dating No Filter is a dating format that gives us the delightful opportunity to matchmake the best of British comedy talent with the best of British single people. We all look forward to the joy, fun and love that should come from such a great combination.’
