    John Bishop to headline SIX one-day comedy festivals

    Major stand-up gigs announced for summer 2021

    John Bishop,  Al Murray and Katherine Ryan are among the comedians announced for a major series of one-day outdoor comedy festivals next summer.

    Comedy In The Park will be staged in six UK country from June to September. Each will offer street food and bars during the afternoon, and a gig at night. 

    Organisers say: ‘We will turn a section of some of the greatest park spaces in the UK into an incredible arena for the evening.’

    Bishop will headline each gig, with five other comics on the bill, including the likes of Jason Manford,  Dara O Briain and James Acaster.

    Tickets, priced £45, go on sale on Wednesday

    The line-ups are:

    Wicksteed Park, Kettering, June 26: John Bishop, Rob Beckett, Al Murray, Judi Love, James Acaster, Tom Davis

    Linconshire Showground, July 3: John Bishop, Ed Gamble, Rob Beckett, Al Murray, Nish Kumar, Desiree Burch

    Victoria Park, Southport, July 17: John Bishop, Katherine Ryan, Jason Manford, Al Murray, Judi Love, Paul Chowdhry

    Dalkeith Country Park, Edinburgh, July 24: John Bishop, Ed Gamble, Nish Kumar, Fern Brady, Paul Smith, Russell Kane, Desiree Burch

    Temple Newsham, Leeds, July 31: John Bishop, Katherine Ryan, Rob Beckett, Al Murray, Judi Love, Paul Chowdhry

    Powderham Castle, Exeter, August 14: John Bishop, Katherine Ryan, Jason Manford, Rob Beckett, Judi Love, Paul Chowdhry

    Earlham Park, Norwich, September 12:  John Bishop, Dara O Briain, Ed Gamble, Al Murray  Rob Beckett, Judi Love

    Organisers say they are confident these events will go ahead whatever the Covid situation.

    They said: ‘We are working with industry experts in event health and safety to ensure our event plan can be modified to allow the events to take place in all Covid tier restrictions, with exception to a complete lockdown. 

    ‘Our team of experts are working closely with local authorities and the government to ensure Comedy In The Park can take place in a safe environment and we are confident that all of our events will take place in the summer of 2021 as scheduled. ‘
