    Watch 24 Year Old Albert Brooks Perform on the Ed Sullivan Show

    On Monday The Ed Sullivan Channel released a classic Albert Brooks bit on their YouTube channel.

    The Channel has been releasing video of historic segments from the iconic television show, and on Monday the channel released an Albert Brooks appearance featuring Brooks performing as the smallest, dumpiest stock broker at the smallest dumpiest brokerage house in the country, fielding a phone call from Howard Hughes. Just a month ago, the channel released Brooks performing Ventriloquist, also embedded below.

    The Ed Sullivan Show’s official YouTube channel will be continuing to release classic performances from comedy greats as well as great from rock n’ roll acts. Comedy clips will be coming from David Brenner, Flip Wilson, Jack Paar, Joan Rivers, Mort Sahl, Nipsey Russell, Jackie Mason, Shelly Berman, Rodney Dangerfield and more.

    Throughout its historic 23-year primetime run (1948-1971), The Ed Sullivan Show brought the hottest performances from around the world and introduced emerging talent to America’s living room every Sunday night. The show featured some of the earliest or first televised performances of music superstars including Stevie Wonder, The Band, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Jackson 5, The Mamas and the Papas, The Supremes, and The Rolling Stones.

    Among the voluminous gems in this vast catalog are iconic clips most of which have not been seen in decades. UMe uploads new videos daily, including scores of rarities available digitally for the first time, to The Ed Sullivan Show’s official YouTube channel and EdSullivan.com, both newly updated.

    Some highlights: Check in on Sunday September 6th for the release of a classic David Brenner clip, watch for a post featuring Rodney Dangerfield on Tuesday September 8th, a 1957 Ernie Kovacs performance will be released on September 13th along with a 1961 Phyllis Diller appearance.
