The People Just Do Nothing team are piloting a gym comedy for the BBC, British Comedy Guide can reveal.

Peacock stars YouTuber-turned-actor Thomas Gray in the title role as Andy Peacock, a physical training instructor in a gym where the members are obsessed with selfies and Instagram.

Written and directed by PJDN's Steve Stamp and Ben Murray, it co-stars Stamp and his Kurupt FM cohort Allan Mustafa alongside Lisa McGrillis (Mum, Hebburn), Lucien Laviscount (Trollied, Scream Queens) and Callie Cooke. Saurabh Kakkar (Stan & Ollie, Timewasters) is producing.

Made by the production company Big Talk (Mum, Cold Feet, Friday Night Dinner), a non-broadcast pilot of Peacock was originally shot in London for Sky in 2018, starring Dominic Cooper in the lead role.

The cast uploaded images of themselves on social media shooting the taster pilot at an athletics arena last week.

Peacock is the latest production from the Kurupt FM stable, with the People Just Do Nothing movie, Big In Japan, currently set for a February release in cinemas.

The team are also developing The Curse, a comedy drama for Channel 4 based upon the true story of a 1980s robbery, written by Stamp, Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin and featuring Tom Davis. Asim Chaudhry has also piloted Coming To England with the commercial channel, a character comedy showcase co-starring Tessa Coates.

However, plans to adapt People Just Do Nothing for America have been abandoned by Amazon.
