INSIDE NO 9: After a very strong opener last week, tonight’s episode of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith series of twisted comedy dramas investigates the relationship between the creators and fans of cult hits. Everyone says the season seven finale of fantasy epic The Ninth Circle was pretty disappointing, so superfan Simon Smethurst (Shearsmith) visits show-runner Spencer Maguire (Pemberton) to put things right…  BBC Two, 9.30pm

GIRL STUCK IN A BASKETBALL HOOP: Comic Ian Smith has made this  one-off comedy documentary about the real-life story of three girls who got stuck in basketball hoops within three months in his East Yorkshire hometown of Goole. In his quest to figure out what happened, he spoke to the local MP and a child behavioural therapist. Fellow comic Jess Fostekew also features. Radio 4, 4pm.

CARLTON OF THE F.O.: This 1959 Boulting Brothers comedy stars Terry-Thomas and Peter Sellers,and revolves around a diplomat who is sent to re-establish relations with the mineral-rich island of Gaillardia, a former British colony that had been forgotten for 50 years and is attracting the attention of both the US and the USSR.  Talking Pictures TV, 12.15pm

TASKMASTER: The 11th series concludes, so we’ll find out who of Charlotte Ritchie, Jamali Maddix, Lee Mack, Mike Wozniak and Sarah Kendall wins Greg Davies's golden head nestled on a spike. Channel 4, 9pm.

WE ARE LADY PARTS: This anarchic new comedy follows a Muslim female punk band on a mission to find a lead guitarist and maybe even a proper gig… Fiona McDermott, head of comedy at Channel 4 has called it an’ ‘audacious, celebratory and hilarious new comedy’ and creator Nida Manzoor ‘a phenomenal talent who had such vision for this show and the women and world she wanted to portray’. Channel 4, 10pm. All episodes on All4 immediately afterwards.
