    Man Like Mobeen up for two Broadcast Awards

    2021 nominees revealed

    Man Like Mobeen is up for two gongs at this year’s Broadcast Awards.

    Guz Khan’s BBC Three sitcom is shortlisted for best comedy as well as best multichannel programme, for all shows not originally made for terrestrial TV.

    Also up for best comedy programme are Mae Martin’s show Feel Good, Friday Night Dinner, Ghosts, Inside No. 9, and This Country.

    While its rivals in the multichannel category are fellow BBC Three  sitcom The Young Offenders, plus  Big Zuu’s Big Eats for Dave, Climategate: Science Of A Scandal for BBC Four, Don’t Hate The Playaz for ITV2, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, also for BBC Three

    Drag Race has also been nominated for best entertainment show alongside James Acaster and Josh Widdicombe’s Dave series Hypothetical.

    Also shortlisted are  I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing, The Masked Singer and The Wall.

    A series of special awards this year celebrates programmes made during lockdown.

    In the entertainment, comedy and scripted category, the shortlist is  A League of Their Own, Home Alone with Joel Dommett, Isolation Stories,  Staged, The Ranganation and Unsaid Stories.

    Elsewhere, the heartfelt documentary What’s the Matter with Tony Slattery? is up for best factual programme

    The winners will be announced on May 27.
