New documentary about being a woman in stand-up

Here’s a trailer for a new documentary about what it’s like to be a woman in comedy.

Hysterical features interviews with US stand-ups such as Margaret Cho, Fortune Feimster, Rachel Feinstein, Kathy Griffin,  Lisa Lampanelli and Iliza Shlesinger.

Directed by Andrea Nevins, it covers topics from casually misogynistic on-stage introductions onstage  to the threat of sexual harassment on the circuit.

Hysterical  will air on the FX channel in the States on April 2, then streamed on Hulu the next day - but there is no news yet as to any UK screening.
