DEAD PIXELS: The second series of the hit comedy about a group of friends who are obsessed with a role-playing fantasy computer game, kicks off with a double bill. Starring Alexa Davies, Charlotte Ritchie, Will Merrick, Sargon Yelda and David Mumeni, the player’s excitement at a new instalment of their favourite is quickly quashed when they discover it overrun by a younger generation of players. RHOD GILBERT'S GROWING PAINS: Bill Bailey, Tom Allen and AJ Odudu relive their youth, however awkward, in tonight’s instalment. Comedy Central, 9pm

BLESS THIS MESS: A British outing for this US culture-clash sitcom about a young couple who leave their home in New York and move to a farm in Bucksnort, Nebraska, that was pretty well-received, if not always well-watched, on the other side of the pond. Fox, 9pm

Thursday January 28

RESIDENT ALIEN: Based on the Dark Horse comic series, this sci-fi comedy-mystery-drama leaves no genre uncovered. Alan Tudyk  stars  as Harry Vanderspeegle – a small-town Colorado doctor who’s definitely not an alien  (spoiler alert: he is).

QI: Bill Bailey, Katy Brand and Eshaan Akbar guest tonight. BBC Two, 9pm

MOCK THE WEEK: Evelyn Mok makes her debut on the show that nearly bears her name, alongside regulars Angela Barnes, Ed Gamble, Rhys James, Milton Jones and, of course, Hugh Dennis and host Dara O Briain. BBC Two, 9.30pm
