    Docherty vs Docherty

Comic vies with himself for Scottish Bafta

Jack Docherty is competing against his own alter-ego for a Bafta award.

Two shows starring the comedian have been shortlisted in the entertainment category of the Scottish Baftas: Selling Scotland, in which he looked back at some of the nation’s most memorable adverts; and Scot Squad: The Chief’s Election Interviews, in which his character, Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson, spoke to political leaders ahead of the 2019 ballot.

The third nominee in the category is Test Drive, hosted by wrestler turned comedian Grado, in which contestants drove to a mystery destination, guided by a 'sat-nav' asking them questions along the  way.

All three programmes were made for BBC Scotland.

In the factual category, Frankie Boyle’s Tour Of Scotland has been nominated alongside Darren Mcgarvey's Scotland and Murder Trial: The Disappearance of Margaret Fleming.

The Greg Davies-fronted BBC Four programme Looking for Kes is up for  the specialist factual Bafta, alongside Miss World 1970: Beauty Queens and Bedlam; and Climategate: Science of a Scandal.

There is no specific comedy category.

Winners will be announced at an online ceremony   on Tuesday December 8, hosted by Edith Bowman.
