Daisy May Cooper names her baby in honour of late co-star Michael Sleggs

'May the spirit of Sluggs live on!'

This Country co-creator Daisy May Cooper has named her new baby after her late co-star Michael Sleggs.

The actor and writer - who will appear in the next series of Taskmaster - has called her newborn Jack Michael Weston.

His middle name in honour of Sleggs, who died of heart failure in July last year at the age of just 33.

Referring to his character, she wrote on Instagram today: ‘May the spirit of sluggs live on!’

The last series of This Country also included a poignant tribute to Sleggs, whose character sent a message from beyond the grave to drop a bombshell on the quiet Cotswolds lives of cousins Kerry and Kurtan Mucklowe.

Jack was born on September 1, a brother for Daisy and husband Will Weston’s two-year-old daughter  Pip.
