Win a place on a top stand-up writing workshop

Led by Doug Anthony Allstars comic Tim Ferguson

One of the most respected names in Australian comedy has become a sought-after writing guru – and we have three tickets to give away to his next online course.

Tim Ferguson made his name as a member of Edinburgh Fringe favourites The Doug Anthony All-Stars, before becoming a major TV star down under, including hosting the local version of Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush.

His writing credits include the feature film The BBQ, his autobiography Carry A Big Stick: A Life Of Laughter, Friendship And MS, script editing the Australian sitcom Ricketts Lane, starring Sammy J and Randy, and the acclaimed how-to guide about writing narrative comedy, The Cheeky Monkey.

In his next online session, Ferguson is turning his attention to stand-up, sharing simple writing principles that professions use to generate and sharpen their material. Rather than being a  formula or rules, he describes them as ‘the unseen principles that underpin all comedy’.

The two-hour workshop takes place on Sunday September 6, from 10am UK time, priced just under £20. Loading…">Click here for more details.

But to stand a chance of winning one of our places, answer the following question by midday on Wednesday September 2, when we will select the winners at random from all correct answers received. Usual terms and conditions apply.

    Good luck!
